Team Details

The Newport Lightning Basketball Club was founded to provide a positive, highly competitive basketball experience for boys and girls in the middle school and high school grades. The Club’s middle school program (for boys & girls grades 3 through 8) is designed for the committed player who is ready to move to the “next level” of youth basketball, beyond existing programs that provide good fundamentals for younger players but a more recreational philosopy for the older grades. We emphasize the importance of experienced non-parent coaches, excellent facilities, and a professional communication and organizational structure. Our goal is to provide an environment for both personal and team growth that will prepare our players for high school competition, while introducing a high-quality club basketball option to the coastal Orange County area. We also have a Spring and Summer high school program for JV / Varsity boys & girls players. We are an AAU member club (www.aauboysbasketball.org), affiliated with Planet Roundball (www.planetroundball.com), and began participation in AAU-sponsored leagues and tournaments beginning with the 2007-2008 season.
